Chapter 14. ELECTIONS

§ 14-8. Time of taking office.

(a)

Newly elected officers shall assume office at the first council meeting in January following their election, except in special elections, in which case the newly elected officers shall assume office at the first council meeting following their elections and qualification.

(b)

If the results of the election are contested, any incumbent who fills a contested office shall hold over until the contest is finally determined.
