§ 2-49. Voting requirements.

  • (a)

    All actions of council shall be by majority vote of members present at a public hearing. Each member, including the mayor, shall be entitled to one vote.

    (b)

    Every member of council present shall vote on every question except when required to refrain from voting by state law.

    (c)

    The vote on every question shall be recorded in the council minutes by the clerk-treasurer. Votes may be taken by a roll call upon request of any councilmember.

    (d)

    No member of council may leave the council chamber while in public session without permission of the presiding officer.
