§ 2-29. Mayor pro tempore.

  • Mayor pro tempore shall be elected by a vote of mayor and council. The vote shall be conducted at the first regular council meeting following the election and swearing in of new councilmembers. The position of mayor pro tempore shall be for a two-year term. In the event the term cannot be fulfilled for a complete two-year term, the mayor and council shall at the next regular council meeting select and vote on an acting mayor pro tempore. Once the council is back to full membership, council shall, at the next regular council meeting, select and vote on a mayor pro tempore to finish the remaining term.
